Branding Parker’s Pulk

26th September 2013, 11:16am

Parker will be self-sufficient for the duration of the expedition. His food, tent, clothing, equipment and scientific hardware will be contained within his expedition pulk, which will be pulled behind him every step of the way.

This specially designed sledge will, when fully-laden, weight in excess of 80kg; this is the equivalent of  dragging a fully-grown adult over the uneven terrain.

The image above was taken when the pulk was delivered to Expedition HQ in London having been branded with the logos of the expedition sponsors. From there, it was shipped to Iceland, the setting for Parker’s intensive training expedition before coming to the UK for a number of expedition-related engagements.
