The Willis Resilience Launch in London Tower Bridge

10th October 2013, 05:00pm

In preparation for the Willis Resilience Expedition, Parker spent a night in his tent inside the Willis Resilience Antarctic Chamber: a large glass box filled with snow, set beneath the iconic backdrop of London Tower Bridge. While not quite the Antarctic, it had plenty of real snow, giving visitors a flavour of the conditions Parker will endure every night for 22 nights during his epic challenge.

On 3rd December, Parker will leave the edge of the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica to ski 397 miles (640 km) unsupported from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole. He will be collecting snow samples which we hope will provide a valuable contribution to our understanding of Antarctic climate.
